1)Explain how both the legislative and the judicial branches of the U.S. government support the corporate community and the power elite. What, if anything, tempers this support? Two decisions by the Supreme Court over the last few years would be very interesting to look at as examples for this questions: Citizens United vs. The Federal Election Commission, and McCutcheon vs. The Federal Election Commission.
2)Review the New York Times from this month; can you identify at least one business corruption scandal? Briefly describe the situation and then explain how stronger governmental regulation might prevent such occurrences in the future. You might also explain how such business practices hurt the common good.
