Write an essay comparing the changes or developments of two major or round characters in stories from this chapter. You might deal with issues such as what the characters are like at the beginning; what conflicts they confront, deal with, or avoid; what qualities are brought out that signal the characters’ changes or developments; and so on. The essay should be a literary analysis, not a first person narrative. Use the stories to support your argument. This is NOT a summary essay.
When writing the essay, make sure you:
Select a workable topic
Present a clear thesis
Follow literary conventions
Organize effectively
Use ample evidence (i.e. quotes from the story)
Find a pleasing conclusion
Use quoted material effectively
Understand that analysis is not summary
Writing Guidelines:
Your essay must include an introductory paragraph, a minimum of 3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph
Your essay must include a thesis statement (underline your thesis statement)
The essay should be 500-800 words in length
It needs to be typed in 12 pt. Times New Roman font, double-spaced with 1″ margins
